Design &
Construction
Wetzel Woodworking uses a
process that allows the customer to be directly involved in their custom
wood work project.
Every aspect of design and
construction is carefully considered so the finished product will provide
service and pleasure for many generations.
Design Process:
- Project, timeline and budget expectations
are discussed.
- A simple sketch or picture or even just a
description of the design you have in mind is usually all that is needed
to work from.
- A site visit may be required for larger
scale/built-in projects for the purpose of taking measurements and color
matching.
- Wood choice and stain color are agreed
upon.
- A drawing of your custom project will be
completed for review and approval.
- Price quote provided. Projects
require a down payment of 50% to start construction. The remaining 50%
is due on completion.
Construction Process:
- Every piece is individually made
permitting special attention to the finer details often overlooked in
larger production.
- No shortcuts are taken in the choice of
materials or the methods of construction.
- The wood is carefully selected for optimal
grain and color match throughout the piece.
- Wood movement is carefully considered when
a piece is built.
- Hardware systems (e.g., hinges, drawer
guides) are carefully selected. Style and personal preference will
determine cosmetic hardware like pulls and handles.
- Each piece is finished to protect and
enhance the beauty of the wood.
